The 44-year-old actress said she has been on a path of “self-discovery” since the Die Hard actor’s family made the shocking announcement about his illness.
During National Grief Awareness Day on Tuesday, Emma stated that she has found new activities to occupy her time while grieving.
When Emma posted a video on Instagram showing her gardening, playing tennis, and exercising, she added the following caption: “This past summer was one of self-discovery for me as I tried new things, broke out of my comfort zone, and kept myself physically active.”
Before sharing the wisdom that her stepdaughter, Scout Willis, had given her, she said, “My sadness may be paralyzing, but I’m learning how to live beside it.” I’m learning to deal with my sadness, yet it still sometimes paralyzes me.
The most profound and pure form of love, according to her stepdaughter @scoutlaruewillis, is sadness, she writes. I genuinely hope that does the same for you.
One of the first to respond to Emma’s article was Scout, who said, “This is such a stunning example! I adore you and am really proud of you! The broken heart emoticons in Emma’s followers’ comments suggested that many of them were at a loss for words.
The actor’s two kids, Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 8, are raised by Emma. His ex-wife Demi Moore, their kids Rumer (34), Scout (31), and Tallulah (28), together with Emma, all declared his decision to stop performing after he was diagnosed with aphasia.
Speaking, reading, understanding, and writing are all made challenging by aphasia, a neurological disorder. Most people with aphasia are 65 years of age and older.
An excerpt from the message says, “To the wonderful people who are Bruce’s supporters, our family wanted to let you know that our dearly loved Bruce has been dealing with various health issues and was just diagnosed with aphasia, which is hurting his cognitive ability. We sincerely regret any trouble this may have brought about.
“As a result of this, and after careful consideration, Bruce has decided to end his long-standing career. We cannot express how grateful we are for all of the love, sympathy, and support you have shown our family during this difficult time.
