Sophia Loren and her family are in our thoughts and prayers.

The Life Before Us is the Italian title of the movie, and the 84-year-old actress is confined to a wheelchair for her role.

She was spotted filming in Bari, Italy, wearing a red dress with a gold floral pattern and a red shawl or large scarf covering it. Her hair was unkempt, and she hardly looked like herself.

Large crowds gathered to watch the famous person in the brand-new film, which is being directed by her son Edoardo Ponti.

Loren portrays a woman who cares for the children of prostitutes in the Romain Gary novel-to-film adaption.

Production is expected to wrap up in August, and she will allegedly also shoot scenes at the Pane e Pomodoro beach and on the San Nicola pier over the course of the coming month.

Although Loren made a one-woman short in 2014 called La Voce Umana, this will be her first cinematic appearance since she provided the non-English speaking world with a character’s voice in Cars 2.

The singer, who is the last surviving star of Hollywood’s Golden Age, began her film career in 1950 at the age of barely 16 years old.

Her career took off after signing a five-film deal with Paramount in 1956, which landed her parts in movies including It Started in Naples, The Pride and the Passion, and Houseboat.

She made history in 1962 by becoming the first actress to win an Oscar for a performance in a foreign language for her roles in Two Women.

Additionally, she has won five unique Golden Globes, a BAFTA, a Grammy Award, and accolades from the Venice and Cannes Film Festivals.

Regarding aging in Hollywood in 2016, she stated to W magazine, “You are always amazed. Actually, when I was 20, I didn’t think I’d live to be 80, but you do.

My god, so much time has passed, you think. I can’t believe it.

Of course, different people play different roles; at my age, you cannot convey the story of a woman in her 30s or 40s. It is not practical.
