Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani celebrated their second wedding anniversary on Monday, July 3. Throwback images of the two superstars’ wedding days were used to mark the occasion.
In a brief and beautiful note, Shelton assures Stefani that he still loves her just as much as he did on the day of their wedding.
The artist writes on social media, “Happy anniversary [Gwen Stefani]!!!!” Every day since I met you has been the best day ever.
On the occasion of the couple’s anniversary, Shelton uploaded a picture from their wedding day along with his congratulations. They are both dressed to the nines and standing next to their multi-tiered, custom-built wedding cake when he is seen kissing his newlywed at the reception.
Similar to Stefani and Shelton’s wedding ceremony, the cake depicted in the country singer’s anniversary tweet was meticulously constructed. After their wedding, the couple revealed that the cake was an emotional ode to Stefani’s family history. They had a specialized bakery construct a copy of the cake that Stefani’s parents served at their own wedding, complete with free-hand piping.
Stefani embroidered the names of her three sons, Shelton, and herself into the veil she wore as she went down the aisle, adding a particular touch to the bride’s lavish Vera Wang gown.
On their second anniversary, Stefani also paid tribute to the couple’s special day, but this time she released a video montage of some of their favorite memories over the years rather than a single photograph.
In the movie, they reflect on their time spent together, including their time with Stefani’s three kids, their visit to the Grand Ole Opry, and their celebration of Shelton’s final episode of The Voice. You might even come upon an old video of Shelton celebrating Easter while dressed as a huge pink bunny if you look hard enough.
The soundtrack for the video montage is the love song “True Babe,” which was inspired by Stefani’s courtship with her husband, a country music singer.
Shelton and Stefani got acquainted for the first time on The Voice in 2014, where they both worked as coaches for a season. Stefani and Shelton began dating the year after their respective divorces from Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert, two other country music artists.
In October 2020, the pair announced their engagement to the world. On July 3, 2021, they tied the knot in a chapel that had been built specifically for the occasion on their Oklahoma property.
