A well-known TV presenter bid farewell to her fans! What heart-wrenching message did Deborah James write?
Deborah James spoke about the toughest news of her life.
Since 2016, she has been diagnosed with stage IV bowel cancer. This time, the presenter learned from doctors that she needs to prepare for a final “goodbye.”
The BBC star has chosen to be moved back home. There, she will receive palliative care and spend her last moments with her family and friends.
In a heartbreaking post shared on Twitter and Instagram, Deborah James wrote that the time has come to share the message she never wanted to write.
“The post I never wanted to write. I’ve tried everything, but my body just isn’t playing ball.
My active care has ended, and I’m now back home, with my incredible family around me and the care of all to ensure my last moments aren’t painful.
No one knows how much time I have left, but I can’t walk any more, I sleep most of the days, and most of the things I took for granted are now pipe dreams.
I know I’ve given it everything. But even with all the world’s innovative cancer drugs or some new magical discovery, my body just can’t keep going.
Right now, all I can do is take every day as it comes, step by step, and be thankful for another sunrise. My whole family is around me, and we will get through this together.
You are all incredible, thank you for playing a part in my journey. No regrets. Enjoy life!” Deborah James wrote on Instagram.
