While navigating on Google Earth, a curious child found something strange on the virtual map – then his parents immediately notified the authorities
Have you ever tried Google’s software called Google Earth?
If not, this program is provided by Google and offers a service through which we can see the globe in 3D format plus many other geographical information. It was first founded in 2004, under another name, after
which it was acquired by the giant Google. If you haven’t tried it yet, we recommend you do it.
You can also use the Street View 360 option to navigate the streets easily and find addresses more faster. Some people explore this software at length to add to the list the future locations they want to visit.
Others out of boredom. A child contributed and saved someone’s life while browsing this program. Read the story below for more information.
Gemma Sheridan was supposed to enjoy a relaxing vacation with her two friends on the beautiful island of Hawaii, but the group was going to go through moments of horror.
They left Liverpool using a boat and were to sail through the Panama Canal and cross the Pacific Ocean to reach the much-desired island.
An extreme storm destroyed the boat’s electrical installation and his friends were killed. But Gemma survived for 17 years floating in the ocean, praying for someone to find her.
Eventually, she was carried by the currents to an island, along with all the remains of the boat. Gemma woke up on that island and survived there for years, eating fish and fruit from the island.
At one point she heard the sound of the engine of an airplane flying over the island. It was the first time he had seen anything coming from outside, the first contact after so long.
She started screaming hysterically and making signs. While staying on that island, she wrote on the beach in large letters SOS.
Eventually, a rescue crew appeared and was brought back to civilization, after many years in solitude, surviving on limited resources.
Gemma was curious to find out how that plane got to the area, and she was told that a child was
watching the 3D earth map on the Google Earth software and discovered the SOS message written on the beach, after which he showed it to his parents.
The next thing was to notify the authorities and start the procedures that must be implemented to save the person.
