Iconic actor Henry Winkler, and his wife, Stacey, had met in a clothing store, which Stacey was visiting, because the store was a customer of her public-relations customer.
Henry approached to her for assistance, and things went on.
And before their wedding, Stacey had moved in with him in 1978, with her son from her previous marriage.
In 1980, they had received their daughter, Zoey, and in 1983, their son, Max was born.
“She was wearing purple parachute pants, and she had red hair, and without her even saying a word, I thought, ‘Woah, beautiful woman standing in front of me’. I came back to the store the next week, and she was there. And within 10 minutes, I learned how strong she is.” Winkler said.
And she was stubborn, as she had nearly declined him, but in the end, Henry got the date.
Stacey also struggled, as Henry got more famous as the time passed, she needed to face with other women, who were asking Henry’s attention all the time.
”People would rush up to Henry and literally walk over my feet. One time I said, ‘You’ve just completely ruined my stockings.’ And this woman said, ‘But I love Fonzie!’” she said.
His son is in his father’s footsteps, and he too became an actor. He worked in New Girl” and “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,”.
In the 90s, there were some bad times for the family, when they found out that Stacey had breast cancer.
She had remission from the cancer, but the disease came back in 2007, again. During the second time of the cancer, she had received double mastectomy. And she is cancer free since that time.
With her wife’s condition, Henry raised awareness against breast cancer. He was the guest speaker in the 13th “In The Pink of Health” event.
But not just her wife. He was already appeared on cancer awareness events, like he was in an basketball gam efor the American Cancer Society in 1976.
”It does take work. There are glitches in the road, and you get a little off kilter, but if you have the ability and the stick-to-itiveness based on love, then your friendship and your relationship only gets better,” Stacey said in an interview with PEOPLE, about how their 44-year-old marriage had worked out.
The couple are now grandparents, and recently, one of their grandkids had saw their grandpa on TV.
He explained the situation as, “my wife and I babysat our four-year-old grandson, who is allowed to watch one show before he goes to bed. He has Happy Days on his DVR. He turned to me, he said, ‘That’s you. Your hair was different. You were skinnier then’”
