One of the most known names of Hollywood, Ron Howard, was born to a family, who were already in the same industry, as he will be legendary in years to come.
He was born in Oklahoma, and later moved with his family to California at the age of 4. His father, Rance Howard was an actor, director, and writer, and her mother, Jean Speegle Howard, was an actress.
As his father, he wanted to direct too, and in 1977, he directed his first movie, Grand Theft Auto.
His breaktrough as a director came with, 1982 movie, Night Shift. And from that point on, his career continued with success. He directed Splash, Cocoon, Apollo 13, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man, and The Da Vinci Code.
Howard was only six, when he got his first acting job, in The Andy Griffith Show, as the role of, Opie Taylor.
After that he acted in, American Graffiti, which became a worldy known movie, and later on he took part on Happy Days.
With the movie, A Beautiful Mind, Howard had received his Academy Award for Best Director, and had received four Emmys, two Golden Globes, and an Emmy award.
In his interview with Arts and Culture, Tom Hanks talked about Ron Howard, whom he had many movies with, and said about him that he is like an older brother.
“Usually when you meet ¬directors they’re older, they wear a suit and they talk all high ¬falutin’ and things, but Ron was a guy who looked like my older brother, going: ‘What do you think of this? What do you think of that?’ I knew we’d work well together straight away.”
